David de Gea has revealed why Manchester United are ‘excited’ over the arrival of Erik ten Hag.

The goalkeeper, who featured in United’s 3-1 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday, said that knowing who is set to take over the dugout has him hopeful for the future. "I am very excited. I think for the whole club it is very good to know who is going to be the manager next season,” he said. “We all know what he has done for Ajax."

United’s top-four hopes were effectively slashed after Mikel Arteta ’s side won in north London to put six points between themselves and the northwest club. On Thursday, it was announced that Ajax boss Ten Hag would be taking over from Ralf Rangnick in the summer.
