Man United send senior scout to watch Ruben Neves

Man United have eyes on Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder, Ruben Neves.

Erik ten Hag’s rebuilding job could literally start in any position on the field. That’s how badly this Manchester United squad needs overhauling.

It goes without saying, the Red Devils have already been linked with moves for what feels like every possible name under the sun. These stories will only ramp up as we approach the summer window.

One name we’ve been linked with in the past is Ruben Neves. I’d bet good money these stories will persist until the Portugal international eventually moves on from Molineux.

Well, according to the Birmingham Mail, United actually sent a senior scout to watch the 25-year-old play this weekend.

Neves was brought straight back into the Wolves’ starting after spending six weeks out injured.

According to the Birmingham Mail, there is a ‘growing belief’ that Neves is playing out his final season with the Midlands outfit, while Old Trafford is a ‘possible destination’ for the player. United wouldn’t have it all their own way, though, with FC Barcelona and Arsenal also keen.

In terms of transfer fee, Wolves will not expect to receive a British record transfer fee to let Neves leave, though they will want more than the £45million they earned from the sale of Diogo Jota to Liverpool a couple of years ago.
